Wednesday night’s game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center in Dallas had a big narrative on it, and it’s summed up by two words: Luka Doncic. The return of the Slovenian superstar to his old stomping grounds was all the talk in the town before, during and after the contest. However, other Lakers were still able to find a way to shine in the game.

During the second quarter, Lakers guard Austin Reaves, who isn’t really known for his hops, showed everyone that he’s very much capable of touching the sky when he soared for an emphatic follow-up dunk off of a 3-point miss by Lakers forward Dorian Finney-Smith.
The Lakers’ bench collectively exploded after seeing Reaves’ throwdown. Even four-time NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James appeared as though he couldn’t believe what his teammate just did.
James immediately looked at Reaves after the play with his arms raised and with utter disbelief written all over his face. The video of that dunk and James’ reaction was captured in a video posted by Bleacher Report, with fans having all sorts of reactions to it, including James’ ecstatic gesture.
“This the same face he made when he lied about reading page 1 of every book,” said a fan on Instagram.
