John Higgins has been in superb form despite his recent exit from the 2025 World Snooker Championship following a nail-biting showdown with Mark Williams.
Resurgent John Higgins has been on a mission to prove his doubters wrong since Mark Allen commented on his “sad” struggles on the table. Allen said as much after defeating ‘The Wizard of Wishaw’ in the first round of the 2024 Masters, when the Scot was experiencing a three-year drought without a ranking title.

Snooker icon Higgins, 49, eventually silenced his critics by claiming the World Open title in March 2025, ending a four-years barren spell at the ranking level. Although his 2025 World Snooker Championship campaign ended in a quarter-final loss to Mark Williams on Wednesday, Higgins’ performances in Sheffield demonstrated he still has plenty to offer. And Allen’s remarks 18 months ago – while they were perhaps intended as words of encouragement – seemed to spark a fire within Higgins, reported The Mirror.
