China will be represented by a record 28 players on the World Snooker Tour, including world champion Zhao Xintong, for the new 2025/26 season, which is due to get underway later this month. England continues to be the most represented nation on the professional circuit, with 43 players on the starting grid among 67 from the UK and Ireland, with a total of 45 from Asia and 11 from mainland Europe.

China is set to be represented by a record 28 players on the main professional World Snooker Tour, including world champion Zhao Xintong, for the new 2025/26 season, which is set to get underway in Leicester next week.
Zhao’s landmark 18-12 victory over Mark Williams as his country’s first Crucible winner in the final of the World Championship last month came after a record 10 players qualified for the last 32 at the Crucible.
Zhao was one of four major ranking event winners from China last season, with Xiao Guodong claiming the Wuhan Open, Ding Junhui lifting the International Championship, and Lei Peifan successful at the Scottish Open.
China had 24 players on the main circuit last season, with England continuing to enjoy the biggest representation on the main circuit, but provisionally dropping from 49 to 43 on this year’s tour.
The oldest player on the main circuit is six-time world finalist Jimmy White at 63, with the youngest 14-year-old Polish hopeful Michal Szubarczyk.
Qualifying for the Wuhan Open marks the start of the new campaign between June 22-24 at the Mattioli Arena, before qualifying for the British Open is staged between June 25-28 in Leicester.
