Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott, both NASCAR Cup Series champions, find themselves in an unexpected and unwelcome category. Busch, a two-time champion (2015, 2019) with 63 career wins, and Elliott, the 2020 champion with 19 wins, are among the Cup drivers with the longest active winless streaks despite their past successes.
Busch, who will turn 40 on May 2, last won nearly two seasons ago at Gateway in 2023 a drought of 66 races, placing him fifth on the list. Elliott, now 29, hasn’t won since Texas in 2024, a gap of 36 races, which puts him eighth.
They’re not the only champions featured: Brad Keselowski, who won at Darlington in early 2024, is just behind Elliott in ninth with a 32-race drought.
Leading the list is Justin Haley, whose only Cup win came 150 races ago in 2019. Cole Custer (106 races), Bubba Wallace and Erik Jones (both 88 races), Michael McDowell (57 races), Daniel Suarez (43 races), and Austin Cindric (30 races) also appear among the drivers struggling to return to Victory Lane.
All will be aiming to break their dry spells this weekend at Talladega, with race coverage starting at 3 p.m. ET on Fox.
